Need motivation to hit the gym? The Nike Women Sister Series for Spring/Summer 2009 could just be
what you need. The collection appeals to something that most women can identify with—the love for
beautiful footwear. The Sister Series consists of five different pairs of shoes, each designed
with a unique personality in mind. The Nike Shox Zip Sister+ (RM379) is athletic and impulsive,
with a four-column Shox feature for more stable transitions during workouts. The Nike Air Strong
Sister+ (RM279) on the other hand, is a true classic, with timeless style and traditional support
in a lighter, more flexible package. Almost like a counter to that is the Nike Bold Sister Mid+
(RM379), which is totally funky, fresh and unconventional with its midfoot fit. The shining star
of the Sister Series though, is the Sister One+ (RM399) that features Nike’s Flywire technology
that keeps the product flexible and light, while offering maximum support.
All five Sisters boast DiamondFLX technology that was designed by Nike’s Sports Research Lab to
offer multidirectional support and flexibility, which strengthens and complements the natural
motions of your foot during training. The collection features prominently in Nike’s new campaign,
“Be Transformed.” Also central to the campaign is the Nike Training Club, which focuses on
“functional training,” the hot new buzzword in the fitness industry for a workout that works
your cardio, core, strength, balance and flexibility at the same time.
Flywire technology is inspired by the design and construction of suspension bridges—Flywire
threads are like a bridge’s cables, holding the shoe up without weighing it down with too much
material.
Unlike say, jogging, where your workout is linear, functional training is multi-dimensional and
supposed to help you become stronger for everyday routines.
The Nike Training Club will be available at Fitness First outlets in Menara Axis, The Curve, IOI
Mall Puchong and Menara MBF until the end of April. That doesn’t leave you with much time to
experience this new form of exercise, so run to the nearest outlet!
